Beyond the M4000, things get prohibitively expensive. The M4000 has the same chip as the GTX970 at a lower clock, so you might want to go with that one. These GPUs are much more expensive than the equivalent Geforce GPU. The Quadro/FirePro cards are aimed at professionals, using essentially the same chips as the Geforce GPUs, but with some added features (not really relevant for Blender) and more RAM, but also clocked lower. Should I push my new employer to specifically aim at a station wich can hold GTX cards or would any of the cards above suffice for mid- to heavy modeling / rendering in Blender? Then I got the answer they were working with an IT company wich they get their hardware from. I want to get the most out of the station in combination with Blender.Īt first I offered to use 2x asus gtx970 4GD5. Mostly print and graphical work, but with eye on 3D animations for the future (consisting out of modeling and animating architectural stuff, but mostly furnitures).
